TODAY'S WEATHER STORY

Severe Weather Possible Monday and Tuesday

The weather pattern continues to look conducive for a severe weather threat early next week. Latest indications are for a vigorous upper level trough to spin across the Central Plains early next week. At the surface, low pressure will develop ahead of the trough and move across the north central Plains while a warm front across Iowa lifts north through the area. Although the exact placement and timing of these features are not certain at this time, the overall ingredients will be in place for strong to severe storms to develop late Monday into Tuesday. The primary threat at this time appears to be large hail and damaging winds. The possibility does exist for a few, isolated tornadoes, especially in area near the warm front. Stay tuned to this news story and the links below for the latest updates.
