SEVERE WEATHER MONDAY AND TUESDAY

Severe Weather Possible Monday and Tuesday

The weather pattern continues to look conducive for a severe weather threat Monday and Tuesday - with Monday evening and late Tuesday afternoon-evening having the highest threat.

Latest indications are for a vigorous upper level trough to spin across the Central Plains on Monday, then northeast across the Upper Mississippi River Valley on Tuesday. At the surface, low pressure will develop ahead of the trough and move across the north central Plains while a warm front across Iowa lifts north through the area. Although the exact placement and timing of these features are not certain at this time, the overall ingredients will be in place for strong to severe storms. The primary threat at this time appears to be large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. The tornado threat will be highest in the vicinity of the warm front.
